New subsea cable infrastructure report published

It has been well documented that Scotland's ability to keep up with the global improvements in connectivity is reliant on the development of new state-of-the-art data centres and on the development of landing new subsea cables that those data centres will require, both of which Scotland is well placed to host.

A report commissioned by us, North Eastern Scotland: Subsea Connectivity Feasibility Study has just been published outlining a review of existing subsea infrastructure and potential landing partners, as well as analysis of marine obstructions and recommendations for the design and construction of optimal subsea cable routes.

Through our Host in Scotland programme, Pioneer Consulting and FarrPoint were contracted to investigate the cost, complexity, and deliverability of a number of subsea fibre options from the north coast of Scotland to Edinburgh.
